MEET OUR CHEF

SAGAR Shrestha

Born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal. From an early age, he used to help his mother in cooking, which led him to the path of culinary 25 years ago. He finished his studies from Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management and learned about Nepali and Indian Cuisine. After, he wanted to explore and learn new arts of cooking, and went to Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. 

Then, after returning back to Nepal, Sagar went to Japan to learn about sushi, which is very fascinating at that time. Even after having some experience, Sagar is still not satisfied with his thirst of never ending desire of exploring his passion of cooking, that lead him to pursue a Diploma in Culinary Arts in Europe, which opened a new door in Capo Bay Hotel, one of the top hotels in Protaras, Cyprus.

Sagar, then moved to Canada almost 9 years ago, with a big dream and a passion in cooking. He worked as a Sushi Chef in various restaurants and hotels, including Kizuna Japanese Fine Cuisine, Hilton Hotel Saint John, EnSushi Bar, and Shannex Parkland in Maritimes. Sagar also gained valuable experiences by working in some of the fine dining restaurants like, Kasa Moto, and Miku Toronto, across Canada.
Currently, Sagar is working as a Regional Sushi Chef and a trainer in Joey Lansdowne since June 2020.

When Sagar is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and his beautiful daughter. Besides, he also loves watching soccer and martial arts.
